part 1 – I will show you how to use Cinema 4D to render out all the separate layers we need to create an awesome sunrise in space. The techniques are not specific to Cinema 4D, you should be able to do the very same thing in any other 3D package like 3ds Max or Maya – or even Element 3D from Video Copilot.

In this tutorial I will show you how to set up the earth and the sun, animate the camera and then render out separate layers for
– Diffuse
– Illumination
– Object Buffer for the Earth
– Object Buffer for the Sun
– Clouds layer
– City lights
In the next part we will take all these layers and composite them inside of Adobe After Effects into a cinematic sunrise in outer space!

This is part 3 of my 5 part tutorial series on how to create a cool camera zoom effect all the way from outer space down to Earth.

n this tutorial I will show you how to use the CC Particle World effect to create some great looking clouds in After Effects. Using a 3D camera we will then create a fly-through effect for multiple layers of clouds. We will integrate a city image into the scene and add some glowy night lights to turn our shot into a cool city-at-night scene!

This is part 4 of my 5 part series on how to create an epic camera zoom effect all the way from outer space, through the atmosphere and the clouds, down into the city and then into a building.

In this part we will build a 3D city using the Element 3D plug-in and the Metropolitan model pack and then create a sleek camera fly-through of our scene. Finally, we will have the camera ‘enter’ into one of the buildings to transition into our final scene.
